What our community has to say.....

D. W. Relative

Just want to say thank you for all the support you all gave to Linda and me over the last months. I am so grateful she had somewhere to come and
be safe with other people. (2024)

Thank you for providing excellent day care for my wife, Marga, during the period November 2014 to the beginning of February this year, following which Marga left to go into full time permanent care. Marga, suffering with Alzheimer's, loved her time at the Centre with it's extremely welcoming and safe environment. She was well cared for by a friendly, well trained and patient team in a properly equipped facility . She enjoyed the stimulation provided by the range of activities and the benefits of making new friends. I am also grateful for the much needed break it gave me as her full-time carer. I just wish I had been aware of the Centre's existence much earlier. I cannot recommend your Centre highly enough. (2014)

I would have no hesitation in recommending Attleborough Day Centre. My father loves attending the centre where he is well cared for. His particular needs often require patience, reassurance and time spent reminiscing to keep him calm and happy and the staff happily provide this. All the staff are caring, friendly and helpful and their efforts give my mother, his full time carer, a much needed break.

Laura, Student

I am a second year Health and Social Care student and I came to the Day centre on placement with the elderly. When I started, I had a really warm welcome from everyone and settled in quickly. The one thing that stands out most and I feel has been so valuable to me is the amount of time the staff have spent with me. They took so much interest in my career path and explained the importance of personal and professional boundaries. They spent time passing on tips from their own experience. I will always appreciate everything they have taught me as I feel a lot more confident leaving than when I arrived. (2025)

Why, oh, why didn't I find ADC earlier? From the first day I took Mum, aged 91, to the Centre, it was such a relief for me to get some respite, even if it was just for a few hours. I was initially apprehensive and it took a little while for Mum to settle in, but with the wonderful support and kindness of Emma and the Team, she soon started to enjoy her visits, particularly the musical entertainment (dancing with her Zimmer frame)! What a wonderful, friendly and secure atmosphere. This is what community is all about. Thanks to all.

C. L. Meal recipient

On coming home after having a total hip replacement and living by myself I was concerned about how I was going to manage.  My daughter heard about Attleborough Day Centre and the service they offer for cooked lunches delivered straight to my front door.    What a difference to have a nutritious, well cooked hot meal, not having to worry about asking someone to shop for me and trying to make my way around the kitchen, preparing and cooking.  I now know it would have been impossible.  The team who deliver the meals are cheerful.  How nice to have friendly face with a hot lunch.  How much better could it get!  What a wonderful service, it has made such a difference.  Keep up the good work. L. T. Volunteer

I was looking for a voluntary role for a few hours a week that would be meaningful and rewarding.  I popped into the Day Centre for a chat with Emma, the Manager and some of the staff.  I decided to volunteer for a few hours a week.  6 months later and I look foward to coming to the Centre.  There's a calmness and sense of community that I enjoy.  When I arrive I'm greeted by friendly staff and service users all enjoying a range of activities from reading or playing games to crafting keepsakes to take home.  The quizzes are fun, there's a lot of laughter as we compete for the answers.  And then there's entertainment that come in to keep everyone fit or play games and music.  We all took part in a pantomime, Aladdin, at Christmas.  Then the service users settle down to enjoy their lunch cooked by Jan, who I like to help with the washing up. After lunch its my time to go.  'Til the next time. (2025)
